In keeping with New Year Resolution no 11, here are a couple of photos from my romantic minibreak with V in November. The sense of release I felt just stepping into the hotel room was so tangible and the view reminded me of the beauty of Hong Kong that I have begun to take from granted.

i think i might be allergic to instagram. someone somewhere had a great article on all that’s wrong with it, but i can’t remember. in my own case, i’m sick of being inundated by wonky fuzzy out of focus and badly coloured photos…i like my photos focusses, framed and clear. but these are nice bride! i’m just a DSLR snob =)
I am sick of people thinking something snobby, saying it out loud with the disclaimer that they’re so snobby and believing that makes them less rude. This is similar to my gripe on the grammar nazi qualification.

As someone who was once a DSLR snob and scoffed at how DSLRs have suddenly become the latest fashion accessory (seriously, who does NOT own one these days?!) I find Instagram wonderful, if used well. And if you follow the right people, there are some who do wonders with it, it really is refreshingly different. Then again, maybe its because I am not on fb, and people tell me their newsfeeds are like Instagram threw up all over them.
I think Bride’s pictures were wow. The first two I saw when she posted on Instagram and they made me want to visit Hong Kong, and I think thats as much as Instagram can do.. Pique interest, easily.
yes fb is very bad. i dont deny that instagram has its uses, or that people do good stuff with it. i guess my point is it doesn’t speak to me. i actually find most instagrammed images make me squint and want to wipe the screen so i can see what’s in the picture. its clearly got more to do with my own personal sense of aesthetics (hahahahahaha that’s a good one, me, with a sense of aesthetics) than anything else.
but yes, i could have chosen better forum and ways to express it =)
